Impropriety

"Correcting bad habits cannot be done by forbidding or punishment"(Robert Baden-Powell)

There are things we do in life that can either have a positive effect or a negative effect on us.  The actions we do can be improved upon to make us better people.  We all have picked up on things in the course of our lives that we are not necessarily proud of.  They don't have to be detrimental to our health, but in some cases, they can severely affect the rest of your body for a very long time.

Some typical bad habits like, over snacking, or watching too much TV, are the habits that can easily be improved.  With over snacking, the best way to kick that bad habit is to only snack when your body needs to eat.  Also by eating for the right reason, and not by stress eating, you can quickly get rid of that habit.  When sitting on the couch watching TV, the less physical activity your body is getting, therefore increasing your chances of obesity and other health conditions.  To stop this from happening, an easy thing to do is to set a time limit on watching TV.  Make a limit that isn't too short or too long, but short enough and long enough that you aren't over doing it.  Typically, one should get at least 2 hours of television per day, and 30 minutes of exercise, but it can be different for different people, so work around that method.

The habits that we do on a daily basis originated purely out of the world around us.  We saw what others were doing, thus showing us that its not weird to do something like that.  After we picked up the habits, we became blind to how it affected us, positively or negatively.  By being aware of how your bad habits are affect your well being, you can work on turning those bad habits into good habits.

The habits we have can be both positive and negative, but the actions we perform when doing this habit can have effects that can make the bad habits worse.  The good things we are doing are strong enough to beat the bad habits with the right amount of effort.  We all have bad habits, and we all have the determination to rid ourselves of those habits, its just that some of us don't have the courage or want to put in the effort to fix themselves.

The bad habits that we have can just as easily be fixed and just as easily turn worse, but all it takes to do the best for yourself is to want the best for yourself.
