Dissociation

"The only thing I learnt in high school is that people are very violent and territorial."(Gerard Way)

For four years, we are forced to go to a place we don't want to go to, to spend time with people we don't like, and to learn things that---most of the time---are of no use to what we want to pursue in the future.  School can either be your best friend or your worst nightmare.  Sure, you make some friends and enjoy minimal classes, but high school is a necessary evil.  We spend a majority of our lives going to school to learn new things, and to meet people that we may or may not choose to surround ourselves with as we grow older.

We are surrounded by people who think that their opinions and their lives are the only ones that matter.  They use that mindset to live the life they live.  In high school, we become very disconnected as we try to find our place.  There are a plethora of groups in high school, some groups you'll never see yourself in, and others that fit like a puzzle piece.  My point being: fitting in should not make your entire life.  It should't matter to you whether or not you find the right place.  High school is temporary, and your status there is temporary.

Spend these four years of your life not worrying about where you fit, but spend it improving yourself, and the person you are.  Don't let yourself become disconnected from others just because you don't think you will fit in with them.  High school is our life for four years, it shouldn't be a life of hiding and sheltering yourself because of those around you.  High school is tough, and most of us probably see no feasible reason to attend, but without it, we would be uneducated and ignorant people with no sense of opinion or reality.

So, don't worry about the social status that you are, don't worry about the people around you because after this temporary place, comes a future where none of them will be dictating it for you.  And in the end, what others think about you and what your social status is, will not matter in the years after high school.
