The Good Thing About The Not So Good Things

"Has this world been so kind that you should leave with regret?  There are better things ahead than any we leave behind."
━ C.S. Lewis

Let's get real, here, for a second.  Life isn't always the best, and sometimes it has a way of telling us that we majorly screwed up.  And there are other times when life makes us figure it out for ourselves, forever wishing we could turn back time to right our wrongs.  It is human nature to screw up.  We are not perfect, and we are not invincible.  We are timid, fragile creatures who are still learning their way.  We're like puppies: small things with so much ahead of them, but constantly yipping and causing a ruckus.  Humans make a lot of mistakes, but that doesn't mean that we have to regret them.

I'm seventeen years old.  I'm just a teenage girl, who loves to write stories and poems.  I'm a young woman that often says the wrong thing, and makes mistakes that I couldn't count on one hand.  But, I don't think that I should press the reset button on any of those choices.  Yes, some of them were bad choices and I cringe every time I remember them, but I do not regret them.  I see all of my mess ups as a way to learn something new about myself.  I use my mistakes to grow and understand that some things don't go right the first time around, and to just keep trying.

In a human life, there are going to be obstacles and we are going to have to make choices based on those obstacles.  And, some of the time, our choices aren't going to be the most beneficial to us.  The choices and the mistakes we make, shape us into the people we are.  If we take away all of the good and bad things we've done, who are we?  The more we learn from our bad days, the better our good days will be.  The choices we make and the mistakes that follow, guide us to where we need to be.

So, yes, the human race is flawed.  We screw up and make fools of ourselves, but those moments that we aren't so fond of, help us to better not only you, but the rest of the world.  The moments of not so grandeur aren't the most important, they are merely just bridges to our paths of life; they're just memories that don't always leave a mark.  To reiterate my previous claim: humans aren't always perfect.  We shouldn't be weighed down by every bad choice we make.  Don't let your mistakes define who you are,  let them be your mentor into living a better life.
